What the critics have to say…

The 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque sports a classy interior and solid off-road prowess, but its powertrain is mediocre, and passenger and cargo space are just so-so.
USNews

This is a refined and comfortable SUV, and it incorporates excellent everyday driving manners and good off-road ability into a solid chassis with lots of safety and driver-assist technology. Rivals include the Acura RDX, Audi Q5, Volvo XC40, and maybe even the Alfa Romeo Stelvio.

HOW DOES IT DRIVE?

The Range Rover Evoque come standard with a 246-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The engine itself is capable, but you may find fault with the standard nine-speed automatic transmission as it can sometimes hunt for the correct gear.

The Evoque doesn’t deliver a sporty ride, nor is it the king of comfort, but it has composed handling and an average ride.

IS IT RELIABLE AND HIGH QUALITY?

The 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque has a predicted reliability score of 68 out of 100. A J.D. Power predicted reliability score of 91-100 is considered the Best, 81-90 is Great, 70-80 is Average, and 0-69 is Fair and considered below average.

Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Warranty

Land Rover covers the Range Rover Evoque with a four-year/50,000-mile basic warranty.

HOW COMFORTABLE IS IT?

The Evoque’s cabin feels wonderfully open.  The front seats are comfortable, but the rear seats offer less legroom than most competitors.

WHAT IS THE INTERIOR LIKE?

The XT4 has a stylish and modern interior. The dash controls are intuitive, but the steering wheel controls are completely the opposite.

The vehicle is easy to get in and out of.  Visibility is excellent.

WHAT IS THE TECHNOLOGY LIKE?

The Evoque’s cabin is very well designed.  The materials used are all top-grade.  The cabin breathes luxury.

Range Rover Evoque Infotainment, Bluetooth, and Navigation

The Range Rover Evoque comes standard with a 10-inch touch screen. New for 2021 is the Pivi Pro infotainment system, which is much easier to use than the interface of previous years. A second 10-inch touch screen placed below the primary display is optional.

  • Standard infotainment features: a 10-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a six-speaker stereo, satellite radio, HD Radio, voice recognition, Bluetooth, and two USB ports

If you must have a Land Rover then the value is intrinsic.  If you are open to other options then there are likely better choices for you and your family.

IS THE range rover evoque A GOOD SUV?

The Range Rover Evoque is an average luxury SUV.   If you plan to off-road then perhaps this is the vehicle for you.

The Evoque’s interior is wonderful.  Overall the vehicle struggles to compete in this segment.

SHOULD I BUY THE range rover evoque?

The Evoque is worth looking at if you need off-road capabilities.  Otherwise, another option may be a better choice.

The Evoque also has one of the highest starting prices in the class, and that mid-five-figure total can quickly balloon as you add options. There are several other larger Land Rover and Range Rover vehicles to be had for what you might pay for an upgraded Evoque.

THE FINAL WORD

The one question as to whether this vehicle is an option for you is if you need off-road capability.  If not, then take the pass.   It has other strengths, such as an elegant interior, but those assets are matched by competitors that offer their own advantages, like more cargo space, a roomier back seat, and peppier performance.
