Jaguar F-Pace

The Jaguar F-Pace (X761) is a compact SUV made by Jaguar Land Rover, a British car manufacturer, under their Jaguar marque. It is the first model to be built by Jaguar in the SUV class. It was formally announced at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, with sales commencing in 2016 following an unveiling at the International Motor Show Germany in Frankfurt in September 2015.[4] The design of the F-Pace is based on the 2013 Jaguar C-X17 concept car.[5] The 2017 Jaguar F-PACE has been named the honorary winner of the 2017 World Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year Awards at the New York International Auto Show.[6]

The F-Pace is built at Jaguar Land Rover‘s Solihull plant along with the Range Rover Velar and employs an additional 1,300 workers.[5]

What the critics have to say…

The 2021 Jaguar F-Pace is larger than the typical small SUV but not quite as large as midsize SUVs. In terms of price, however, it’s more in line with the midsize class. We’ve been fans of the F-Pace since it debuted in 2017, particularly for its sleek style and sporty driving dynamics. Unfortunately, it also had plenty of drawbacks, including some disappointing cabin materials and a glitch-plagued infotainment system.

HOW DOES IT DRIVE?

Jaguar intentionally tunes the F-Pace’s suspension on the firm side for a sporty feel. The ride is never harsh, although the larger available wheel sizes (Jaguar offers up to 22-inch-diameter wheels) can add some jiggle to the suspension’s movements over bumps. Regardless of model, every F-Pace’s steering setup is quick and delivers confidence-inspiring feedback from the front tires to the driver’s hands. Driven quickly, the F-Paces sharp responses are genuinely impressive and make this Jaguar crossover truly fun to drive.

IS IT RELIABLE AND HIGH QUALITY?

Is the Jaguar F-Pace Reliable?

The 2021 Jaguar F-Pace does not have a predicted reliability rating at this time.

Jaguar F-Pace Warranty

The Jaguar F-Pace comes with a five-year/60,000-mile warranty.

HOW COMFORTABLE IS IT?

We had issues with the pre-refresh model’s clunky, bug-riddled infotainment system, but those issues have been remedied with the next-gen interface Jag installed for 2021. Interior material quality was something of a letdown, but that, too, has been addressed with this year’s face-lift. That said, the overly firm ride on large wheels with low-profile tires is likely to remain.

WHAT IS THE INTERIOR LIKE?

In keeping with Jaguar’s lineup-wide minimalist interior aesthetic, the F-Pace’s cabin features simple detailing, easy-to-reach secondary controls, and lots of window area for enhanced visibility. You sit high in both the front and rear seats, and the driver is treated to an excellent seating position, square to the steering wheel and pedals. The F-Pace’s front-seat legroom and headroom measurements are among the roomiest in this class, while the aft quarters are merely average. Large climate-control buttons are easy to use, and the central touchscreen display is only a slight reach for either occupant of the front seat.

WHAT IS THE TECHNOLOGY LIKE?

For 2021, the F-Pace gets Jaguar’s new Pivi infotainment system, replacing the old TouchPro interface. The new system is more modern, intuitive, and user-friendly. The touch screen has sharp graphics and easily navigable menu layouts, and the display and physical controls are within easy reach of the driver’s seat.

WHAT IS THE CARGO SPACE LIKE?

Aside from its relative lack of cubby space for front-seat passengers, the F-Pace’s cargo-hauling capabilities are far greater than its sexy styling would suggest. Release handles in the trunk and atop each rear seatback lowers the 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats to a nearly flat position. Doing so created room for up to 22 carry-on suitcases.

IS THIS VEHICLE A GOOD VALUE?

The F-Pace is not without flaw, but if you can look past its imperfections, this Jag makes for a compelling package.

IS THE Jaguar F-Pace GOOD SUV?

Yes, the Jaguar F-Pace is a good SUV. It has a capable base engine, three impressively powerful optional engines, sporty handling, and a cushioned ride. The cabin looks good and is well-built, and there are two rows of comfortable, roomy seats. Plenty of user-friendly features come standard, and few rivals have as much cargo space. In other words, the F-Pace is one of the most well-rounded luxury compact SUVs.

SHOULD I BUY THE Jaguar F-Pace?

With so much to like, you may instead be asking why you shouldn’t buy the F-Pace. There’s really only one reason not to strongly consider this Jaguar: Its price. It costs more than most of its classmates, and by quite a bit in some cases. There’s a good argument that it’s worth the money, but if you don’t care about the F-Pace’s athleticism, there may be other options that are less expensive and will still fit your needs.

THE FINAL WORD

The Sportage doesn’t excite in any way shape or form.  It’s an efficient, value-driven vehicle that would suit anyone who shares those priorities.
