Infiniti QX60 – RANKINGS, COMPARISONS AND INFORMATION SHEETS

Updated February 14, 2022

WHY IS THIS INFORMATION IMPORTANT?

The Infiniti QX60, formerly called the Infiniti JX until 2013, is a seven-seat mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by Infiniti, the luxury vehicle division of Japanese automaker Nissan. It is underpinned by an elongated Nissan Murano platform also used by the Nissan Pathfinder.[1]

In keeping with Infiniti’s naming scheme for 2014, in which cars begin with Q and SUVs begin with QX, the JX was renamed to QX60 While the number previously denoted engine displacement (for example, 35=3.5L engine), the new number, 60, is largely to do with its place in the product lineup, with larger numbers usually corresponding to more expensive vehicles.[2]

What the critics have to say…

The Infiniti QX60 fits the bill as a luxury crossover, but is starting to feel a bit dated against its competition. Appointments throughout the cabin are upscale, with plenty of soft-touch materials and nice wood or woven trim broken up by shiny metallic details. Space is ample, particularly in the second row. Access to the third row is easy too, thanks to the sliding, tilting right-side second-row seat.

HOW DOES IT DRIVE?

Some of Infiniti’s sedans provide potent performance, but the QX60 is more focused on people-hauling and comfort. Its soft suspension and numb steering won’t inspire anyone to take a sporting route to their destination, and they isolate the driver from the road. The suspension tuning is soft and sloppy, and that results in lots of body roll when going around turns.

IS IT RELIABLE AND HIGH QUALITY?

Is the Infiniti QX60 Reliable?

The 2022 Infiniti QX60 does not yet have a J.D. Power predicted reliability rating.

Infiniti QX60 Warranty

Infiniti backs the QX60 with a four-year/60,000-mile basic warranty and a six-year/70,000-mile powertrain warranty.

HOW COMFORTABLE IS IT?

The QX60 is a quiet and comfortable people-mover. We like the stadium-like second-row seating, and the front-seat coolers are among the best we’ve experienced. The rest of the climate controls also work phenomenally well and are easy to use thanks to the hard buttons and menu interface.

WHAT IS THE INTERIOR LIKE?

Although the cabin has been dramatically redesigned, the 2022 QX60 retains its three-row interior layout, which means space for up to seven passengers; the top-spec Autograph model comes with second-row captain’s chairs which reduces passenger capacity to six. The luxed-up cabin is convincing, with posh materials used throughout and extra sound–deadening efforts to provide more solace from the outside world. Both front seats offer eight-way power adjustments as well as heat but Infiniti also offers niceties such as ventilated front seats, a massage feature, and heated rear seats as options. Dual-zone automatic climate control is standard as well and higher trim levels can be ordered with a three-zone system that also includes an air purifier.

WHAT IS THE TECHNOLOGY LIKE?

Although the optional navigation system comes with 3D building graphics, the system looks a little dated. It works well, but the clarity of the graphics is a step behind its competition. Pairing Bluetooth is a little clunky, too. The optional 13-speaker Bose audio system does not disappoint, though.

WHAT IS THE CARGO SPACE LIKE?

This Infiniti provides pretty good cargo capacity for the luxury midsize SUV class. It gives you 14.5 cubic feet of space behind the third-row seats, 41.6 cubic feet with the third row folded, and 75.4 cubic feet with the second and third rows folded.

IS THIS VEHICLE A GOOD VALUE?

In its basic configuration, the QX60 offers decent value. But add a bunch of option packages and that appeal wanes, especially since options are bundled into high-priced all-inclusive packages rather than available individually. At least the build quality and materials are worth the money.

Edmunds

IS THE Infiniti QX60 A GOOD SUV?

Yes, the Infiniti QX60 is a good SUV. It has a punchy V6 engine, respectable handling, and a firm yet comfortable ride. The well-built cabin looks good, and the first two rows of seats are spacious and supportive. There are plenty of standard features, including a fairly intuitive infotainment system, and cargo capacity is good for the class.

SHOULD I BUY THE Infiniti QX60?

The QX60 has a lot going for it, so that should make it an enticing choice in the luxury midsize SUV class. It also sports a below-average price tag, making it an intriguing value. That said, the big reason you might want to at least consider other options is that, while the QX60 doesn’t have a lot of noteworthy flaws, it’s also not really a class leader in any aspect.

THE FINAL WORD

The base QX60 is priced lower than most of its competitors. As you add features however there becomes less reason to purchase the QX60 over its competitors.
