Why is this important?
This page will tell you everything that you need to know about this vehicle. Buying a vehicle is a huge accomplishment and a huge financial outlay. We want you to have as much information as possible, so that you can make the best decision for you. At SUV Power Rankings we analyze reviews, videos, etc. to come up with a Metacritic type of score for each vehicle. Unlike a score from a single site which is bound to be biased our score is an amalgamation of every score that we can find making it as unbiased as possible.

The Audi Q5 is a series of compact luxurycrossover SUVs produced by the German luxury car manufacturer Audi from 2008.[1] The original first-generation (Typ 8R) model was the third member of the B8 family to be released after the Audi A5 and fourth-generation A4, all being based on the Audi MLB platform. The second generation Q5 (Typ 80A) debuted in 2016 and shares the Audi MLBevo platform with the corresponding B9 versions of the A4 and A5.

What the critics have to say…
While they aren’t the most engaging SUVs to drive, the 2022 Audi Q5 and Q5 Sportback offer an upscale look, a host of high-end features, and a refined nature.
Car and Driver
HOW DOES IT DRIVE?
Our Q5, which had the base 45 TFSI powertrain, accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds at our test track. That’s a respectably quick time for a small luxury SUV with a base engine. Out in real-world driving, however, the engine sometimes feels overworked and there’s a noticeable delay when you press the gas pedal.
Edmunds
IS IT RELIABLE AND HIGH QUALITY?
Is the Audi Q5 Reliable?
The 2022 Audi Q5 has a predicted reliability score of 63 out of 100. A J.D. Power predicted reliability score of 91-100 is considered the Best, 81-90 is Great, 70-80 is Average, and 0-69 is Fair and considered below average.
Audi Q5 Warranty
Audi covers the Q5 with a four-year/50,000-mile warranty.
HOW COMFORTABLE IS IT?
Our test Q5 came in the Prestige trim with the superbly comfortable front sport seats that have heating and ventilation. These front seats are the single most premium item inside the Q5. The cabin feels well built and insulated from the outside world.
Edmunds
WHAT IS THE INTERIOR LIKE?
The Q5 provides enough room for four adults to get comfy and offers plenty of upscale features, even on the base Premium model. The cabin is both quiet at speed and easy to get in and out of. Moving up through the three trim levels—Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige—nets more luxury features, including Audi’s slick Virtual Cockpit digital gauge cluster.
Car and Driver
WHAT IS THE TECHNOLOGY LIKE?
Technology is a strong area for the Q5. Navigation maps are clear and easy to read, with accurate turn-by-turn directions. Our test vehicle came with a rich and voluminous Bang & Olufsen stereo system that certainly scores some luxury points. The advanced driver aids also performed well. Adaptive cruise control is helpful to use on the freeway, and you can’t possibly miss the flashing blind-spot warning lights.
Edmunds
WHAT IS THE CARGO SPACE LIKE?
When it came to seeing how many of our carry-on cargo boxes fit, the Q5 didn’t impress. It beat the smaller Macan, but only just and held 18 cases with the rear seats folded. The Q5’s rear seatbacks easily fold in a 40/20/40 fashion, however, providing flexibility that the Lexus RX doesn’t have.

IS THIS VEHICLE A GOOD VALUE?
Build quality is a hallmark of Audi vehicles, and the Q5 is true to the brand. The interior panels exhibit a tight fit throughout the cabin, and there’s an interesting mixture of authentic metals, leathers and woods inside. Some competitors do a better job of wowing you with crystals or flashy styling, but the Q5 brings a lot to the table.
Edmunds
IS THE Q5 A GOOD SUV?
Yes, the Audi Q5 is a good luxury compact SUV. It does most things well but doesn’t excel in any one area. A trio of engine options range from a demure base offering to a peppy plug-in hybrid and a turbocharged V6. Handling – while not track-worthy – is pleasing, and the ride is comfortable. Inside, quality materials, welcoming seating, and user-friendly technology combine to form a good overall package.
USNews
SHOULD I BUY THE Q5?
The 2022 Q5 is a solid pick in the class, but there are other intriguing options (looking at you, BMW X3 and Volvo XC60) that are less expensive and pretty good total packages in their own right. With the BMW, you get sportier handling than you do with the Audi, while the Volvo comes packed with a ton of standard features.
USNews
THE FINAL WORD
The Q5 is a great all-around mid-size SUV. It doesn’t do anything best in class, but it also doesn’t fall down in any categories.
