What the critics have to say…
The 2022 Audi Q3 is a smart way to get behind the wheel of an Audi without blowing up your budget. It combines most of the goodness of the larger Q5 SUV — similar tech, convenience and safety features — in a smaller and less expensive luxury package.
— Edmunds
The 2022 Audi Q3 is the most affordable way of getting into a new Audi SUV/crossover. Since it’s smaller than the Q5, the Q3 is theoretically a subcompact crossover. It doesn’t seem right describing it as such because it feels much roomier than that.
HOW DOES IT DRIVE?
Everyone has different driving tastes, but in general: the Q3 is a fun car to drive. The standard engine provides 185 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. It’s “meh”, but good for entry level. The 45 TFSI ups the horsepower to 228 and increases to 258 pound-feet torque.
There is some turbo lag, but the Q3 glides over rough patches on the road. Critics are split with some calling it “agile” and others claiming it is “numb”.
IS IT RELIABLE AND HIGH QUALITY?
The Q3, like most Audi products has an average or above reliability rating. It is built with high-quality materials and high-quality craftsmanship.
HOW COMFORTABLE IS IT?
The Q3 is a comfortable SUV to be in whether you are the driver or the passenger. The front seats have eight-way adjustment.
WHAT IS THE INTERIOR LIKE?
The Q3 has a seating setup that will suit nearly everyone. There’s plenty of headroom up front and enough room for two adults to be comfortable in back. Visibility is excellent.
The optional 10.1-inch touchscreen is responsive to the touch and offers a helpful clicking noise to let you know the command is registered. The buttons on the steering wheel and center console are intuitive.
WHAT IS THE TECHNOLOGY LIKE?
With the optional MMI navigation feature, the Q3 can operate Apple CarPlay wirelessly.
All of the Q3’s active driver safety features work well, but aren’t especially intuitive to use. Adaptive cruise control is adequate, but often asks the driver to take control.
WHAT IS THE CARGO SPACE LIKE?
The Q3 has a flat load floor and small compartments on either side to secure small bags.
A wireless charging pad and small grip between the cupholders are great spots for smartphones.
IS THIS VEHICLE A GOOD VALUE?
Quality materials are used throughout. The surfaces are nice to touch. The Q3 is priced similarly to others in the class such as the BMW X2 and Cadillac XT4. Audi’s warranties are about average for a luxury automaker.
IS THE Audi q3 A GOOD SUV?
Yes, the Audi Q3 is a good SUV. It has a lengthy list of standard features, including Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive. You’ll also get some state-of-the-art tech features, decent fuel economy, and a coddling ride. However, it’s not the default choice in the class for sportiness, and while its interior materials are generally nice, some reviewers find a few too many cheap materials for their liking.
SHOULD I BUY THE Audi Q3 GLB?
While there’s a lot to like about the Audi Q3, there are plenty of good SUVs in the class. For instance, the BMW X1 has sharper handling and more cargo space than the Q3. If you like the Q3 but want something roomier, you could consider the Audi Q5.
THE FINAL WORD
The Audi Q3 presents many of the traits shoppers seek in small luxury vehicles. It’s comfortable, capable, and fuel-efficient. It more affordable than most cars in this class, yet it comes with a generous list of features, including Quattro all-wheel drive. It’s not agile and it’s not sporty, but overall, the Audi Q3 is an appealing choice.
